Based on our award winning resource Let's Talk About Sexual Assault, and created in consultation with young people and others working with youth, the booklet uses personal quotes from teenagers, quizzes, artwork, photographs and text to define sexual assault and other forms of abuse while presenting ideas for violence prevention. The booklet encourages positive self-esteem, communication, and an examination of values among young women and men while providing practical information on physical self-defence; sexual harassment; child sexual abuse; current laws; hospital, police and legal procedures after a sexual assault; AIDS; how to support a survivor and more. Not only a handbook for youths, but also a relevant and comprehensive teaching tool for parents and educators who care.

FOR ORGANIZATIONS

Adult Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse- A Blueprint for Developing Services
© 1995, ISBN 0-921886-12-8, 250 pages 3-ring binder $95.00 each
This manual for developing services for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse contains over 250 pages of practical information that will be useful for staff, board and volunteers. Created for people wishing to develop services for adult survivors of sexual abuse and those wanting to enhance existing services, the manual was developed using more than two years of consultation with programs serving adult survivors.
Many agencies working in this field have limited staff, which makes the development and management of counselling programs difficult. Adult Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse - A Blueprint for Developing Services provides sample outlines, forms, and processes that can be easily modified, helping avoid the repetition of effort and financial expenditure that so often impedes the progress of service delivery.
Set in a large 3-ring binder that is easy to use and update as needed, the manual contains sections on: Foundations, Programs, Administration, Human Resources, Program Evaluation, Outreach, with each section containing chapters on related subjects. Resource Lists at the end of individual chapters relate to the specific topics covered while a comprehensive bibliography and index is also provided at the end of the manual.
Note: This manual is not in any way intended as a training manual for counsellors in the field of childhood sexual abuse. It is intended to give board members and qualified counsellors assistance with the development of programs.
(Want to know more? A comprehensive package on the Blueprint Manual including the Preface, Table of Contents, List of Figures, Introduction and Working Assumptions of the Blueprint Project is available upon request through the address and phone numbers above.)
